A Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker, Farhan Shabbir underwent angioplasty after suffering a massive heart attack during Rangers custody in Karachi.
Farhan was in Rangers detention since March 11, 2015 by Karachi Rangers during a raid on MQM headquarters Nine Zero. He is facing charges of murder and illegal arms possession.
According to sources, Farhan was moved to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) where the MQM workers underwent angioplasty.
Doctors has confirmed that Farhan Shabbir is improving.
Farhan’s cardiac arrest came five days after four Rangers men were arrested over custodial death of MQM worker, Aftab Ahmed, whose postmortem confirmed torture on him, prompting army chief Raheel Sharif to order an inquiry.
