Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) suspended membership of Abdur Rauf Siddiqui from the party.
According to MQM sources, the decision was taken in MQM Rabita (Coordination) Committee meetings in Karachi and London.
In statement MQM stated that “Rauf Siddiqui is thoroughly paralysed mentally and ideologically. Hence, he is suspended from the party’s organisational membership.”
However, Siddiqui will continue functioning as Sindh MPA but he will not be invited to attend the MQM’s organisational sittings, training sessions or any other intra-party meetings.
Rabita Committee said the party’s office-bearers overseeing the parliamentary matters may contact Siddiqui regarding assembly sessions and other concerned parliamentary affairs.
