Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) sacked party’s senior deputy convener Amir Khan from Rabita Committee (Coordination Committee) membership.
According to sources, Khan has been removed from his position following ‘complaints’ against him. However, nature of the complaints could not be ascertained as yet.
The MQM is also yet to release official statement on the matter. Sources informed that the party had inducted six new members in its decision-making body Rabita Committee.
The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on June 16 had allowed Khan, in response to his petition, to fly to Dubai. He was detained among other members by Rangers on charges of aiding terrorists.
He had then approached the court, seeking bail and travel abroad. Khan’s plea was accepted and the ATC directed him to return to country till July 20.
In August 2015, Khan was inducted into the coordination committee. The decision was taken by MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
