A video has emerged showing Sadaqat Hussain, a former MQM-P MPA, threatening a female teacher at a Karachi examination centre.
The footage captures Hussain entering the centre, where he misbehaves with and intimidates the female staff. Following the incident, the Provincial Minister for Universities and Boards responded promptly, promising swift action against the ex-MPA. He emphasized that the Education Department will not condone harassment or misconduct.
Additionally, the school staff plans to report Hussain’s inappropriate behaviour to Anis Kaimkhani.
In response, MQM-P has acted decisively. They suspended Hussain’s membership and established an investigation committee to address the incident, underscoring a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal activities and breaches of conduct.
The incident coincides with the start of the annual Matriculation exams in Karachi on May 7, involving over 365,102 candidates. The city has set up 505 centres for these exams, which concluded on May 31.
To maintain order, 50 vigilance officers monitor the centres where strict rules prohibit mobile phones and photostat machines. Section 144 ensures security, and measures are in place to guarantee uninterrupted electricity during the exam sessions.
