Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has been in touch with political bigwigs in Karachi since yesterday, according to media reports.
An MQM delegation held meetings with the chief of Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PMLF) Pir Pagara, Syed Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi and the former military dictator General (Rtd) Pervez Musharraf, who leads the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML).
Dr. Farooq Sattar, Babar Ghauri, Barrister Saif, Khaled Maqbool Siddiqui, Nusrat Shaukat, Advocate Arif, and other leaders were part of the MQM delegation.
According to sources Senate elections and the current political affairs were the order of the meetings.
The MQM top brass first stop was Musharraf’s residence and then Kingri House.
Talking to reporters, MQM’s leader Khaled Maqbool Siddiqui said these meetings were aimed at propping up the politics in Sindh in the broader interest of the country.
“All eyes are on the opposition for its role has now taken the center stage given the political circumstances,” Sidduqui remarked.
