Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has submitted an application to obtain Pakistani passport and computerized national identity card (CNIC), the Foreign Office confirmed yesterday.
According to the spokesperson of Foreign Office Tasneem Aslam, the MQM chief contacted Pakistani High Commission in London and has applied for Pakistani travel documents. She added the application has been forwarded to the interior ministry for further process.
The Foreign Office spokesperson stated, “It is the interior ministry that deals with such applications and the foreign ministry has no role in the procedure.”
