Morocco defeated Jordan 3-2 after extra time on Thursday to win the Arab Cup in a dramatic final.
Oussama Tannane gave Morocco an early lead in the fourth minute with a stunning strike from the centre circle. His long-range effort caught Jordan goalkeeper Yazeed Abulaila off his line and stunned the crowd.
Jordan responded strongly in the second half. Ali Olwan headed home the equaliser in the 48th minute and later converted a penalty in the 68th minute to put his side ahead.
Morocco refused to surrender. Abderrazzaq Hamed Allah scored in the 87th minute to force extra time. He then sealed the title with a close-range finish, completing a decisive comeback.

The victory underlined Morocco’s growing dominance in regional and international football. The team lifted the trophy despite missing several Europe-based players ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Morocco has enjoyed sustained success across all levels. The senior team became the first African and Arab nation to reach a World Cup semi-final in Qatar three years ago after eliminating Spain and Portugal.
Youth teams have also delivered historic results. Morocco won the Under-20 World Cup in October after defeating Argentina 2-0 in the final. The Under-17 side reached the World Cup quarter-finals, while the Under-23 team won the Africa Cup of Nations and claimed bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Morocco will next host the Africa Cup of Nations from December 21 to January 18, further cementing its status as a regional football powerhouse.
