Batbold’s Journey From Mongolia to Old Trafford
Batbold began his journey to the iconic stadium in May 2023, covering 14,000km. A fan since 2010, his earliest memory of Manchester United is watching them play against Liverpool, a match highlighted by Dimitar Berbatov’s memorable hat-trick, which led to a 3-2 victory.
In a heartfelt letter to the club, Batbold expressed his deep connection to the team, “I’m currently cycling from my home in Mongolia to Old Trafford because I love Manchester United. Wayne Rooney has always been my hero. His relentless work ethic, versatility, and clutch performances inspired me. As a young boy, I dreamed of playing for Manchester United. Still, my aspirations were derailed by a fraudulent football agent who cost me significant money, turning my dream into a nightmare.”
My mom is about to see and experience my dream with her own eyes ❤️🥰🇲🇳. I’m on the verge of tears 🥹. This is one of the biggest promises of my life coming true ❤️

Their support fuels merchandise sales, attracts international sponsorships, and significantly contributes to the league’s substantial revenue streams. While some may view such fanaticism as excessive, it undeniably underscores why the EPL remains one of the most beloved and financially successful sports leagues globally.
