Mohammed Shami, the Indian cricket team’s fast bowler, recently addressed circulating rumours regarding an alleged upcoming marriage to tennis star Sania Mirza.
During a YouTube interview with Shubhankar Mishra, Shami vehemently denounced the baseless rumours fueled by manipulated images and speculative social media posts. He urged the public to exercise caution and responsibility when using social media, emphasizing the potential harm of spreading false information.
Shami expressed his frustration about the situation, noting the peculiar nature of seeing his manipulated images whenever he uses his phone. He stressed that while memes might be entertaining, they can impact real lives and should be created and shared thoughtfully. He criticized those hiding behind anonymity on unverified pages, challenging them to post such claims from identifiable accounts.
“If you have the courage, speak from a verified page, and then we’ll respond,” Shami stated. He highlighted the ease of targeting others from behind screens. He encouraged online users to focus on personal growth and positive contributions instead of indulging in unwarranted criticism of public figures.
