Investigation has been started on Friday after FIR of the Model Town tragedy was registered against twenty one people, including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Aijaz Rasheed has been appointed as investigation officer to probe into the incident in which more than a dozen people were killed.
Yesterday, PAT Chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri had rejected the FIR of Model Town tragedy lodged in Faisal Town police station.
Minhajul Quran had asked the police to nominate 21 accused including the prime minister, the Punjab chief minister and the federal ministers in the FIR.
At least 14 workers of PAT were killed, while scores of others injured in deadly police crackdown on June 17, 2013 outside Minhaj-ul Quran’s secretariat in Model town.
