Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) politician and member of the National Assembly (MNA) Nawab Yousaf Talpur died on Tuesday in Umarkot at 82 and had faced a prolonged illness.
Nawab Yousaf Talpur won the NA-213 (Umarkot) seat in the 2024 General Elections. His political journey began in 2002 when he first became an MNA. Since then, he secured victory in Umarkot in every general election. In 2013, he notably defeated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
Nawab Yousaf Talpur leaves behind a strong political family. His son, Nawab Taimur Talpur, serves in the Sindh Assembly. Another son, Nawab Younis Talpur, was the former deputy Nazim of Mirpurkhas District Council. Their roles highlight the Talpur family’s influence in Sindh politics.
