Actress Mishi Khan has publicly expressed her dismay over comments made by Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik during his recent visit to Pakistan.
Mishi took to Instagram to denounce Naik’s remarks about Pakistan’s national airline and his views on the country, sharing her frustrations through a video.
Mishi criticized Naik’s complaints about his luggage allowance. “What did you need to bring that weighed a thousand kilograms? Should being a state guest entitle you to carry everything for free if you were allowed 500 kilograms?” she questioned.

She also addressed Naik’s controversial remarks about women. “It saddens me deeply that you speak of women in such terms. You should be guiding men instead. Fear God and choose your words wisely,” Mishi stated.
The actress called on the government to be more selective with their invitations to state guests. “Why host people like Zakir Naik and Javed Akhtar, who abuse our hospitality and then speak ill of us? If they prefer India, they should stay there. Don’t we deserve respect?” she argued.
Dr. Zakir Naik’s statements about unmarried women have also provoked a strong backlash from other celebrities and the public. During his visit, he asserted, “Unmarried women cannot be respected. Their options are limited: marry a man who is already married, or be deemed ‘public property.’ I can’t think of a better term. A respectable woman would choose the former.”
This has prompted many celebrities to seek a more inclusive and tolerant interpretation of Islam on social media and other forums, highlighting the need for nuanced discussions.
