Federal minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durban escaped a roadside bomb apparently targeting him.
According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Police, the housing and work minister was traveling in a convoy when the remote controlled bomb went off.
The police said Durrani, also a former KP chief minister and senior leader of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F), remained unhurt in the attack.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack on the convoy of Federal Minister Akram Durrani.
The prime minister, who is in Malta to represent Pakistan at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, also expressed sorrow over the death of two men in the attack.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been a front line province in Pakistan’s war against local and foreign militants. The country launched a large scale military offensive last year in North Waziristan tribal belt adjacent to the KP which bore the brunt of terrorism.
