Microsoft is continuing its annual tradition of opening the year with major game announcements, as anticipation builds for the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct.
At the 2025 edition, fan-favourite titles such as Doom: The Dark Ages and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 generated strong buzz. This year’s showcase is expected to be even bigger.
Microsoft has confirmed that several high-profile games will headline Xbox Developer Direct 2026. Among the most anticipated titles are Forza Horizon 6, the long-awaited fantasy RPG Fable, and Beast of Reincarnation.
In a statement, Microsoft said the fourth Developer Direct will feature “news, new gameplay, and insights directly from the incredible teams working on titles coming this year.”

Forza Horizon 6
Developed by Playground Games, the next entry in the popular racing series has no confirmed release date yet. Reports suggest a possible launch window around May 2026.
Beast of Reincarnation
Developed by Game Freak, the action title is scheduled for release in summer 2026. The game will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5.
Kiln
Double Fine Productions is developing Kiln, which is set to release in spring 2026. The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
