Microsoft Confirms Global Tech Outage Hits 8.5 Million Devices

A software update by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike led to a global tech outage, impacting approximately 8.5 million Microsoft devices.

According to a recent blog post by Microsoft, the company estimates that this update impacted less than one percent of all Windows machines.

Moreover, Microsoft announced that CrowdStrike developed a scalable solution to expedite repairs on Microsoft’s Azure infrastructure. The tech giant collaborated with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform to devise the most effective strategies.

The IT outage caused significant disruptions worldwide, leading to delayed flights, cancellations, and airport check-in issues. Various industries, including banking and media, also experienced interruptions.
