Tracking data from Kobis, the Korean Film Council’s service, shows Mickey 17 drew 980,549 admissions across 2,153 screens. Warner Bros. reported a four-day haul of KRW12.9 billion ($9 million), boosted by a Friday release and the Independence Movement holiday on Monday. IMAX screenings added 9% to its impressive gross. The weekend’s top 10 films earned $9 million—double the prior week’s $4.4 million—highlighting the film’s draw.
The story follows a worker “reprinted” for perilous tasks on a remote colony, blending Bong’s signature wit with sci-fi flair. It easily eclipsed competitors, cementing its status as a box office juggernaut.
