At 15, roller skating sensation Mia Peterson astounded spectators by flipping over 12 people, safely landing and establishing a new World Record.
Mia, a bright star from California, has been crowned by the Guinness World Record for achieving an unparalleled barani flip over 12 individuals on roller skates from a quarter pipe. This exceptional accomplishment has etched her name in the record books, and she will be featured in the 2024 edition for this unique feat.
Mia’s love for roller skating ignited at 11, spurred by her sister’s birthday gift – a pair of roller skates. The duo soon became regulars at the skating rink, creating memories and mastering skills, as chronicled by the Guinness World Records.
By 13, Mia was deeply passionate about skating and became a staple at local skate parks. Here, she made lifelong friends and honed her skills in advanced moves, like the barani flip – a challenging front flip coupled with a half twist.
Mia recalled her initial experiences with GWR, “I began practicing flips on roller skates in foam pits before transitioning to airbags.
She continued, “During my initial attempts, I suffered injuries, including a split chin that required 27 stitches and broken ribs from an over-rotated front flip. But each setback fueled my determination even more.”
