London: Metropolitan Police, hopeful to charge Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain in a money laundering case, Tuesday.

Earlier, Hussain was escorted by PTI leader to the police station after the expiration of his bail in a money laundering.

Hussain was arrested in June last year on suspicion of concealing the source of allegedly illegally gotten money, but was later released on bail, leading to speculation that his once cozy ties with London — who viewed his party as a bulwark against Taliban terrorism — could be fraying.

According to police, Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) will decide on the indictment or bail of Hussain in the case.

Meanwhile, investigators, who are questioning Hussain for the last near five hours, have taken at least three breaks since morning.

The MQM leader was also provided with breakfast during one of the recesses. (PhotoNews / Agencies)
