Meta has begun rolling out its Teen Accounts feature to users in Pakistan on Facebook and Messenger. This safety tool, first launched globally on Instagram, is designed to provide a safer and age-appropriate experience for teenagers.
With this expansion, Pakistani teens will join the hundreds of millions of users worldwide. These users are already benefiting from Teen Accounts across Meta’s platforms. This move builds on Meta’s ongoing efforts, launched a year ago, to improve digital safety standards for young users.
Teen Accounts enhance online safety by automatically limiting who teens can interact with. They also filter the content teens view, and promote healthier screen time habits.

A Meta statement explained, “Teen Account protections address parents’ top concerns by limiting online interactions and filtering content. This ensures that teens’ time is well spent.” It added, “Although there is more work to do, Teen Accounts are giving parents greater peace of mind about their teens’ online experiences.”
Starting this week, new teen users, as well as existing ones on Facebook and Messenger in Pakistan, will be transitioned to Teen Accounts automatically. This change enhances safety without requiring extra action from families.
