Megyn Kelly has voiced her confusion over the proliferation of “bizarre” conspiracy theories involving Taylor Swift, particularly those from individuals she often aligns with, and these theories propose Swift is manipulated by the Pentagon or figures like George Soros for political ends, a notion spread by some supporters of Donald Trump.
On her SiriusXM podcast, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly expressed her disappointment that “individuals on the right, whom I esteem, are advocating this.” The narrative has expanded to include Swift’s relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce, especially following Kelce’s participation in Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine promotions, drawing scrutiny from Trump’s adherents.
Kelly challenged the apprehension over Swift and Kelce’s spotlight, remarking, “Some act as though Taylor Swift directly influences presidential outcomes.”
While guessing Swift and Kelce’s political stances, likely favouring Biden, Kelly pondered the excessive fear of their sway. She argued that Swift’s potential endorsement of Biden wouldn’t determine the election’s outcome, recommending Swift maintain a nonpolitical stance to preserve her fan base.
Figures like Chris Cuomo and Charles Barkley also commented on the conspiracy theories. Cuomo criticized them as “unhinged” and “detached from reality,” noting Swift’s lack of political endorsements. Barkley bluntly labelled the theorists as “losers” or “fools.”

Kelly’s remarks reflect her exasperation with the baseless speculations about Swift. She underscored the trivial impact of Swift’s political endorsements on elections and advised Swift to avoid political entanglements for her career’s sake. Cuomo’s and Barkley’s inputs further underscored the dismissal of the conspiracy theories targeting Swift.
