The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a prestigious commentary team for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, starting June 1.
The panel features prominent cricket figures such as Ian Bishop, Ian Smith, Harsha Bhogle, I, Ravi Shastri, and Nasser Hussain.
Pakistan’s ex-captains Wasim Akram, Ramiz Raja and Waqar Younis will join them and offer their expert insights. Legends like Sunil Gavaskar, Matthew Hayden, Eoin Morgan, Ricky Ponting and Tom Moody will also contribute.
Past T20 World Cup winners like Carlos Brathwaite, Steve Smith, Dinesh Karthik, Ebony Rainford-Brent, Aaron Finch, Samuel Badree and Lisa Sthalekar will provide commentary. In addition, American commentator James O’Brien, aka Jomboy, is set to make his World Cup debut.
The ICC aims to enhance the viewing experience with various broadcasting talents. The tournament will be covered extensively over 28 days, featuring pre-match shows, innings breaks, and post-match summaries.
Following the success of the vertical feed at last year’s World Cup, ICC TV will introduce an AI-supported vertical feed for this T20 World Cup.
Other renowned commentators include Graeme Smith, Dale Steyn, Michael Atherton, and Simon Doull. The panel also features Shaun Pollock, Katey Martin, Mpumelelo Mbangwa, Natalie Germanos, and many more distinguished voices in cricket broadcasting.
