The death toll of Mastung road accident has risen to 14 people, officials said.
The accident took place in Khad Koocha area of Mastung district, 45 kilometres( 28 miles) south of Quetta, the capital of the oil and gas rich Baluchistan province.
“A Quetta bound passenger van carrying 18 passengers had a head on collusion with a truck coming from opposition direction, killing 14 people including a 12-year-old boy and injuring six others,” Sabzal Khan Rind, a district official told AFP.
Ismail Ibrahim, another senior local administration official also confirmed the details of the accident.
Pakistan has an appalling record of fatal traffic accidents due to poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.
In January, 62 people were killed when a bus collided with an oil tanker, starting a fierce blaze that left victims burnt beyond recognition. (AFP)
