A suicide bomber attempted to disrupt a BNP-M rally near Luk Pass in Mastung, Balochistan. Security personnel and party workers successfully stopped the attacker from entering the sit-in, forcing him to detonate his explosives outside the perimeter. Remarkably, no casualties were reported.
The assailant arrived on a motorcycle with an accomplice, who escaped after the explosion. BNP-M leader Sardar Akhtar Mengal and other rally participants emerged unharmed. The rally, part of a long march from Wadh to Quetta, was protesting the arrests of Baloch Yakjehti Committee leaders and police actions against sit-ins.

Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed that authorities are investigating the Mastung suicide blast. “We’re committed to ensuring public safety and protecting political leaders,” Rind stated. Since Friday night, the provincial administration has coordinated with BNP-M leadership to secure the rally. A meeting with Sardar Akhtar Mengal is planned to address ongoing concerns.
