Late Saturday night, a tragic accident occurred near Luck Pass in Mastung when a bus traveling from Quetta to Karachi plunged into a ravine, resulting in the deaths of five passengers and injuries to fifteen others.
Rescue and Levies officials reported that the driver lost control of the steering wheel after the road became slippery from the rain. This sudden loss of control led to the bus’s catastrophic descent into the ravine.
The impact of the crash left several passengers trapped inside the wreckage. Rescue efforts were promptly initiated as Levies and rescue teams reached the site. A crane was brought in to extricate the trapped passengers from the mangled bus in a complex rescue operation.
Following the rescue, the injured were transported to Quetta Civil Hospital, and the bodies of the deceased were moved to Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital for further procedures. This incident highlights the critical need for enhanced road safety measures and driver awareness, especially in adverse weather conditions.
The local community and authorities are now grappling with the aftermath of this devastating event as they seek to support the injured and mourn the loss of lives.
