A man’s face was viciously mutilated by a man and his four friends who suspected him of having an affair with his sister. Police said earlier yesterday that the men had cut the victim’s lips and nose right off.
Police said Khalid, a resident of Bait Meer Hazar, a town in Muzaffargarh, was picked up by five men from the same area on Saturday. They said they had arrested the main suspect.
SHO Nazir Javed said Kora, a resident of Bait Meer Hazar, had suspected his sister of having an affair with Khalid. He said Kora was from an influential family. The SHO said Kora and his friends Muhammad Tariq, Falak Sher, Tariq and Ameer Bakhsh picked Khalid up on Saturday and took him to a deserted place. They mutilated his face and fled.
Police said they had arrested Kora. He told the police that he had warned Khalid to stay away from his sister but he refused to back off.
“So we taught him a lesson.” Police said that his accomplices had fled.
Khalid was taken to Nishtar Hospital, Multan, in critical condition.
Doctors treating him said his lips and nose had been badly injured.
They later declared him out of danger and said he was showing signs of improvement.
Police said an FIR had been registered against all five suspects. They said they were raiding surrounding towns looking for them.
