Lahore: Mango exports are expected to begin from the first week of August with the delivery of Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and Muzaffargarh’s Chaunsa variety.
Exports from Punjab are expected to go high, up to 10,000 MT, during the current season due to a good yield.
Major importers of Punjabi Chaunsa mangoes are Dubai and United Kingdom (UK) where Pakistanis are in large numbers.
The exports will continue till the end of October, said sources in the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
According to the exporters in Punjab, Pakistan exported a record 91,700 tons of mangoes in 2014 and 82,000 in 2013.
