Mango, the globally renowned Spanish clothing retailer, has announced the sudden death of its founder, Isak Andic. Toni Ruiz, the company’s CEO, expressed profound sorrow over the loss of Andic, who also served as the non-executive chairman.
“Isak Andic was a guiding light for everyone at Mango. He devoted his life to building the brand, leaving a lasting legacy through his strategic foresight, inspirational leadership, and deep commitment to our core values,” Ruiz stated.
The company has not disclosed details of the accident. However, reports from Spanish media indicate that Andic, aged 71, succumbed to injuries sustained in a fall during a hiking trip with family members near Barcelona.

Founded in 1984 by Andic, a Turkish-origin entrepreneur, Mango opened its first store on Barcelona’s prestigious Paseo de Gracia. The launch came as Spain transitioned from decades of dictatorship under General Francisco Franco, and there was a burgeoning demand for contemporary fashion.
