Hundreds of landline phones in Balochistan lost service on Wednesday when unknown miscreants severed the main cable of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) in the Sordo area of Panjgur, disrupting telephone connections throughout the region.

Reports indicate that the outage affected hundreds of households and businesses, causing significant inconvenience due to the loss of telephone service. PTCL teams promptly arrived at the site to commence repair work and restore the affected landline connections.

Additionally, the provincial government has implemented section 144 in Balochistan to stop the obstruction of highways after recent protests that shut down several major roads.

In a related development, the gas supply to Balochistan was recently restored after repairs were completed on a pipeline damaged by sabotage. The damage occurred at the Akhtarabad Western Bypass, cutting off gas in several areas.

The Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) reported that its technical teams faced harsh cold conditions while fixing the 18-inch-diameter pipeline at the Quetta bypass. They finished the challenging task three hours earlier, easing customers’ disruptions in upper Balochistan and Quetta.
