Pakistani actress Mahira Khan won the Best Actress award at the Indus Valley International Film Festival in New Delhi, India, for her performance in the short film Prince Charming.
Sheheryar Munawar, actor-turned-director, directed a 12-minute short film featuring Zahid Ahmed and Mahira.
She said, “This award is dedicated to all women suffering silently from post-marital depression. Such issues are considered taboo in our society, but here we are. I’m glad this role touched the audience’s hearts; it’s one of the roles that will live on in my heart forever.”
Mahir Khan thanked Sheheryar for having faith in her.
The film Prince Charming reflects on post-marital crisis and depression even in the modern era, and the film is about an unhappy married woman who wants to spend a good time with her husband, who is always busy with work.
