Machine Gun Kelly revealed an audacious tattoo transformation, covering nearly his entire upper body in solid black ink—a decision confirmed as authentic.
The musician showcased the striking new look on Instagram Tuesday, revealing the extensive black ink that envelops half of his torso. Original tattoos subtly emerge through planned gaps along his arms and around a cross symbol on his chest.
The transformation was a profoundly personal endeavour for Machine Gun Kelly, executed by tattoo artist ROXX. ROXX shared with TMZ that the process involved a “spiritual consultation,” during which MGK expressed a desire to change and bring order to the chaos of his existing tattoos.
In his Instagram post, Machine Gun Kelly cited “spiritual purposes” as the driving force behind the blackout tattoo, opting to disable comments on the post.
Regarding the pain involved, ROXX commended MGK for his resilience, labelling him the most formidable client she has encountered in her 30-year career, indicating the process was exceptionally painful.
The tattooing began in mid-December, with MGK visiting ROXX’s private Los Angeles studio four times a week for thirteen six-hour sessions. This intensive schedule marks it as one of ROXX’s most extensive projects in a condensed timeframe, with plans for further work to complete the transformation.
In essence, Machine Gun Kelly’s bold tattoo is a profound statement of change, dramatically showcasing his commitment to personal evolution.
