Apple is preparing for its next iPad Pro, which will be powered by the upcoming M5 chipset, which is currently in late testing.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, in the Power On newsletter shared on April 1, 2025, he reports that four variants, J817, J818, J820, and J821, are set to begin production in late 2025. While the new M5 chip promises a performance boost, the design is expected to resemble the current M4 iPad Pro launched in May 2024. This includes features like an OLED display, a landscape camera, and a slimmer profile.

The iPhone 16e was launched in February. It features the C1 modem, which is being promoted as Apple’s most power-efficient modem. According to Gurman, this technology could eventually be included in M6 iPads. The M5 iPad Pro is currently in late-stage testing, indicating a potential rollout in 2025. It combines power with a familiar experience for Apple fans.
