In an unexpected development, Lucky Motors, Pakistan’s prominent car manufacturer, announced a significant price reduction for its widely acclaimed Kia Sportage model. This decision reverses the company’s earlier 2024 price hikes, which had drawn consumer backlash.
The reduction varies across the Sportage lineup. The Sportage Alpha’s price has dropped by Rs 250,000 and is now priced at Rs 7.3 million. The more advanced FWD, AWD, and Limited Edition variants have seen even larger cuts of Rs 300,000, adjusting their prices to Rs 7.74 million, Rs 8.47 million, and Rs 9 million, respectively.
This adjustment follows Lucky Motors’ decision to increase vehicle prices in 2024, including a Rs 250,000 hike on the Sportage Alpha earlier in the year. The rationale behind this sudden pricing strategy shift remains unspecified, as Lucky Motors has yet to issue an official statement explaining the factors leading to this decision.
Meanwhile, the prices for other vehicles in Lucky Motors’ lineup, such as the Picanto and Stonic, remain unaffected. The Picanto MT and AT variants remain priced at Rs 3.6 million and Rs 3.85 million, respectively, while the Stonic EX Plus maintains its Rs 6.28 million price tag.
