Lucian Grainge, hailed as the ‘most powerful man in music’ and CEO of Universal Music Group, has been implicated in the sex trafficking lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The allegations accuse Grainge, alongside Ethiopia Habtemariam, Motown Records, Love Records, and Universal Music Group, of “aiding, abetting, and inducing” Combs to operate a sex trafficking ring.
The lawsuit claims that these entities facilitated the transfer of significant funds to Combs and his associates, potentially amounting to millions, thereby directly benefiting from the illicit venture. It is alleged that they deliberately neglected to submit the requisite tax disclosures related to the financing of these activities to the federal authorities, aiming to safeguard their profits derived from the sex trafficking operations.
Moreover, the absence of compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations by Grainge, Habtemariam, and the involved record labels was not merely an oversight but a calculated act of collaboration. This strategic inaction is deemed a direct concealment effort, enabling Combs to perpetuate his sex trafficking activities through unscrutinized financial transactions that otherwise might have been halted.
