Liverpool has signed Bournemouth’s Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez for £40 million, enhancing their defence with a promising young talent.
Veteran journalist David Ornstein reported Liverpool’s agreement to sign 21-year-old Milos Kerkez, who is set for a medical next week and a five-year contract, per The Athletic. Kerkez started all 38 of Bournemouth’s 2024–25 Premier League games, scoring two goals and providing five assists, helping secure their best-ever league finish. His £15.5 million move from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 marked him as a standout defender, with 23 caps for Hungary since 2022.

Kerkez’s signing signals Liverpool’s plan to refresh their backline, particularly as Andy Robertson, now 31, shows signs of fatigue.
According to Sky Sports, Kerkez’s overlapping and underlapping runs align with Arne Slot’s wing-play tactics. Though still honing his defensive skills, his attacking flair and athleticism make him a long-term successor to Robertson, enhancing Liverpool’s left flank.
According to BBC Sport, Bournemouth, anticipating Kerkez’s departure, signed left-backs Adrian Truffert and Julio Soler. This transfer represents Liverpool’s third significant signing, alongside Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, demonstrating their ambition under Slot.
