A lion was brought to the rally of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif in Lahore. However, it was promptly returned following Nawaz Sharif’s instructions. The event occurred in the NA-130 constituency, where supporters gathered to welcome Nawaz Sharif. A lion and a tiger were presented at the camps, attracting many workers who took selfies with these animals in cages. Bringing lions and tigers to rallies has been common among PML-N supporters, reflecting the party’s election symbol.
Nawaz Sharif’s Stance on Animal Welfare at Rallies
PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb conveyed Nawaz Sharif’s directive regarding using live animals at rallies. She tweeted that on Nawaz Sharif’s orders, a lion brought by a supporter was immediately returned. He emphasized that no real lion or any other animal should be brought to rallies in Pakistan. This decision was made after a lion was brought to a rally on Mohini Road, leading Nawaz Sharif to take immediate action for its return.
