Grammy-winning rapper Lil Nas X, born Montero Lamar Hill, was arrested in Los Angeles’ Studio City after allegedly charging at LAPD officers while wandering Ventura Boulevard in underwear and cowboy boots, TMZ reported. The 26-year-old was taken into custody at 5:50 AM and hospitalised for a possible drug overdose before being booked on a misdemeanour battery charge at Valley Jail in Van Nuys, where he is held without bail.
Police responded to reports of a man acting erratically on Ventura Boulevard. TMZ footage captured Lil Nas X, wearing white briefs and cowboy boots, singing and joking with bystanders, saying, “Don’t be late to the party tonight,” before snapping at someone to stop recording. The incident escalated when he allegedly charged at officers, leading to his arrest. The LAPD has not released further details on his condition or the suspected overdose.

The arrest follows Lil Nas X’s April 2025 hospitalisation for partial facial paralysis, which raised fan concerns about his well-being. His erratic behaviour in Studio City has intensified speculation, with no official comment from his representatives. The rapper, who rose to fame with Old Town Road’s record-breaking 19-week Billboard Hot 100 reign in 2019, remains a bold figure in pop music, known for his provocative 2021 album Montero.
The viral incident underscores Lil Nas X’s unpredictable public persona, drawing comparisons to past celebrity legal troubles. Authorities are investigating, and the misdemeanour charge could carry up to one year in jail and a $2,000 fine, per legal experts.
As Lil Nas X awaits legal proceedings, the focus remains on his health and recovery. The incident may impact his upcoming projects, including the anticipated Dreamboy album, while fans and authorities await further updates on his condition and the case.
