The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has ramped up its efforts against power theft, uncovering 490 unauthorized connections and detaining 37 individuals on the 20th day of its campaign targeting the “Kunda mafia.”

Since the inception of this initiative, 595 individuals have been apprehended, and charges have been laid against 238 accused of stealing electricity.

Lesco’s operation spans several areas, including Ferozepur Road, Bagh Munshi Ladha, and Ravi Road.

During these raids, unauthorized connections were severed, revealing electricity theft of over 40 million PKR in value.

The ongoing drive against power theft has yielded promising results, with a consistent rise in detections and arrests.
