Renowned golf champion Tiger Woods is mired in a complicated legal feud with his ex-partner, Erica Herman. After their relationship ended in 2022, Herman began a legal campaign against Woods and his trust. She alleges sexual harassment, marking another chapter in the series of legal issues Woods has faced.
Erica Herman’s Pursuit to Annul a Non-Disclosure Agreement
Herman’s legal battle has faced significant challenges thus far. Despite her allegations, her case has been dismissed twice in Florida courts. Undeterred by these setbacks, Herman recently submitted an appeal to Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal. The essence of her appeal, as reported by USA Today, is to nullify a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) she signed in 2017.
This NDA is particularly important because Herman wants her legal case to be publicly heard, believing it will offer more transparency and justice. However, thus far, the Florida judges presiding over the case have sided with Woods. They contend that the case should proceed through private arbitration, effectively keeping the matter out of the public eye. As of now, it is uncertain whether Herman’s latest appeal will alter this stance.
Erica Herman is a 39-year-old Florida native who was romantically involved with Tiger Woods from 2017 until their split in October 2022. Before their relationship, Herman worked in the hospitality sector. In 2015, she was appointed manager at The Woods Jupiter, a restaurant owned by Tiger Woods.
The relationship between Herman and Woods became public in 2017, a couple of years after her appointment at The Woods Jupiter. Following their breakup in late 2022, Herman decided to take legal action against the golf icon. In March 2023, she reportedly filed a lawsuit seeking $30 million in damages. As her case progresses, it promises to keep Tiger Woods under the legal spotlight for the foreseeable future.
