The death toll in Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine blast has risen to 57.
At least 57 people were killed and more than 100 others were injured as a suspected suicide bomber set off his explosives in Sehwan City of Sindh’s Jamshoro district on Thursday evening.
Deputy Commissioner Munawar Mahesar confirmed 57 deaths and more than 100 casualties in the deadly attack.
Mahesar while talking to media said “The blast occurred within the premises of the shrine, we have declared emergency in hospitals and are shifting the injured to nearby hospitals,” .

Provincial Health Minister Sikandar Mandhro told media that the blast occurred during ‘Dhamaal’ expressing fear that death toll can increase as the shrine is visited daily by hundreds.
Eye witnesses too claimed that the blast occurred within the premises of the shrine during the dhamaal ritual.
