Lahore Qalandars vs Multan Sultans produced a high-scoring, rain-curtailed thriller at Gaddafi Stadium, where Lahore secured a 20-run victory in PSL 11. Mohammad Naeem powered the home side with a rapid half-century, while disciplined bowling kept Multan short despite a fierce late charge.
The match was reduced to 13 overs per side after a two-hour rain delay. Multan Sultans, chasing 186, finished on 165/5 and suffered their first defeat of the tournament.
Lahore built their innings on an explosive opening stand between Naeem and Parvez Hossain Emon. The pair added 86 runs in just five overs and immediately put Multan under pressure.
Emon attacked from the outset and struck 45 off 19 balls, hitting five sixes and two fours before debutant pacer Muhammad Ismail dismissed him in the sixth over. Naeem kept the momentum going and top-scored with 60 from 28 deliveries, including four sixes and four fours.
Abdullah Shafique then added another burst with 33 off 14 balls. Although Lahore lost a few wickets in the closing overs, Sikandar Raza hit back-to-back boundaries at the end to lift the total to 185/5.
Multan Sultans Fight Back But Fall Short
Multan’s chase never settled early. The side lost Steve Smith and Josh Philippe inside the powerplay and slipped to 18 runs with two wickets down.
Shan Masood responded with a brisk 44 off 18 balls, while Sahibzada Farhan made 24 during a steady rebuilding stand. However, Mustafizur Rahman removed both set batters and disrupted the chase at key moments.

Captain Ashton Turner kept Multan alive with an unbeaten 52 off 22 balls, smashing five sixes and two fours. He also shared a 57-run partnership with Arafat Minhas, who made 25, but Lahore’s bowlers controlled the final overs well enough to close out the win.
Naeem earned Player of the Match for his attacking 60, which gave Lahore the platform for a daunting target in a shortened game. On the bowling side, Rahman stood out with 2 for 37 in three overs. Ubaid Shah, Sikandar Raza, and Shaheen Shah Afridi supported him with one wicket each.
For Multan, Muhammad Ismail impressed on debut with 2 for 47, while Peter Siddle and Faisal Akram picked up one wicket apiece. Even so, Lahore’s early batting surge ultimately decided the contest.
