Lahore Qalandars delivered a commanding 88-run victory over previously unbeaten Islamabad United in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 at Gaddafi Stadium, climbing to second place with their second win in two matches.
Sikandar Raza showcased his all-round brilliance with a performance that included 39 runs off 17 balls and taking 3 wickets. Sam Billings contributed 38 unbeaten runs off 17 balls, while Fakhar Zaman added 44 runs. As a result, the Qalandars scored 209 for 6, taking advantage of several fielding errors by the United team. Haris Rauf also excelled with his fiery bowling, claiming 3 wickets, and Raza’s spin bowling proved effective. United was bowled out for just 121 runs in 17 overs.

Qalandars bounced back after a shaky start, as Raza and Billings teamed up to create a fifth-wicket partnership of 64 runs in just 23 balls. United’s dropped catches proved costly, particularly when Fakhar was given a reprieve at a score of 4. Although United had a solid partnership of 69 runs between Salman Ali Agha (scoring 36) and Andries Gous (scoring 41), they ultimately succumbed to the pressure exerted by Haris and Asif Afridi. This result is a significant upset, ending United’s five-game winning streak and highlighting the depth of the Qalandars team.
