The incident occurred two weeks ago near the Muslim Town underpass in Lahore, where Javed Butt was fatally shot and his wife was injured. The shooting happened under the jurisdiction of the Achhra Police Station. SP Model Town, Ikhlaq Ullah Tarar, led a substantial police force to the scene to start the investigation.
Officials noted that Javed Butt’s daughter, also present during the incident, was unharmed. The ongoing probe focuses on identifying the motives behind this violent act.
This incident adds complexity to the Amir Balaj murder case, involving Teefi Butt as the primary suspect. In a related event, Ameer Balaj Tipu was previously killed at a marriage ceremony by Muzzafar Hussain, an associate of Khawaja Tareef, due to a longstanding feud. Muzzafar was killed immediately following Tipu’s murder.
Investigations also revealed that Ahsan, a close friend of the deceased, had provided essential information to the attackers, aiding the murder. An audio recording later exposed Ahsan Shah plotting to kill a police officer while in jail, intending to flee the country afterwards.
