Due to inadequacies in police and administrative performance across the country, there has been a concerning surge in crime rates, encompassing both street crimes and kidnappings.
In a recent incident reported from Naseerabad, a suburb near Lahore, a citizen was abducted. Investigators discovered that the kidnappers demanded a ransom exceeding 40 million rupees for the release of the individual. Local police have formally registered a case to address this serious crime.
As per a report by ARY News, this alarming incident unfolded within the Naseerabad area, where the victim was forcibly taken and subsequently extorted for a large ransom. Naseerabad Police have filed charges against seven individuals, including two primary suspects in this criminal act.
The case details indicate that the kidnappers exploited the victim’s financial resources, withdrawing substantial sums from various ATM cards. They also coerced the victim into signing official documents and leaving thumbprints on blank checks and plain papers.
The victim was also robbed of personal belongings, including a mobile phone, a laptop, and a cash-containing bag. The police revealed that the individuals involved were previously engaged in business together, which may have influenced the dynamics of the crime.
