A surge in street crimes has been reported in Lahore, with 490 criminal incidents occurring in the last 24 hours.
According to police reports, thieves targeted 22 homes across various city districts, making off with goods valued in the millions. Additionally, armed robbers confronted 29 individuals in separate incidents, forcibly taking large sums of money and mobile phones. Public roads were also the scene of crime, where robbers snatched smaller amounts of money and mobile phones from 51 citizens.
Other reported incidents include armed robbers who stole motorcycles and cash from two individuals in different locations. The city also saw many vehicle thefts, including 50 motorcycles, 2 cars, and 5 other vehicles. Moreover, 329 other miscellaneous theft incidents were recorded.
The police have responded by registering 38 cases related to the possession of illegal weapons and 32 cases involving narcotics. The ongoing crime wave highlights a critical need for enhanced security measures and police vigilance in Lahore.
