On Friday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected a plea to prohibit the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) rally, which was scheduled for September 21 in Lahore.
A three-member full bench delivered the decision on the petition filed by advocate Nadeem Sarwar.
Sarwar had requested the LHC to prevent PTI from conducting its public rally. However, the court dismissed the petition, stating that the applicant did not qualify as an ‘affected party.’

In a related development on Wednesday, PTI approached the Lahore High Court seeking legal protection against the arrest of its workers and leaders ahead of the rally at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore. The petition, submitted by Sheikh Imtiaz and Yasir Gillani, highlighted that the ongoing arrests of party members in Punjab infringed upon their constitutional right to organize a rally.
The petitioners urged the court to direct authorities to halt the arrests and ensure the rally could proceed without interference. As mentioned earlier, PTI is poised to conduct the rally on the date.
