Kylian Mbappé, the celebrated football icon, has reportedly declined a meeting and contract proposal from the Saudi Arabian football club Al Hilal.
The football world was taken aback earlier this week when news surfaced that Al Hilal was prepared to shatter the world record transfer fee, offering an incredible $332 million (€300 million) for the French forward.
The proposed package also encompassed an unbelievable salary agreement of $775 million for the 24-year-old Mbappé, eliciting reactions from prominent athletes across diverse sports.
Representatives from Al Hilal, the most successful football club in Saudi Arabia with four Asian Champions League titles, travelled to Paris to meet with Mbappé’s representatives. However, they were met with denial, as reported by French sports news outlet L’Equipe and esteemed Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano. CNN has contacted Al Hilal, Mbappé’s representatives, and his present club, Paris-Saint Germain, for further comments.
Mbappé’s Future at Paris-Saint Germain
Amidst the swirling transfer rumours, Mbappé has been left out of PSG’s preseason tour of Japan. The club has given him a tough choice: either sign a new contract or be available for sale. The French striker has been linked strongly with a potential move to La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid in the recent past.
