Kuwait has extended the deadline for undocumented expatriates to either leave the country or regularize their status.
The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry has extended the deadline for the three-month visa amnesty, initially set to conclude on June 17, to June 30, 2024. This extension follows directives issued by Fahad Al Yousef, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence and Interior.
The extension aligns with the Eid Al Adha holiday and responds to many expatriates taking advantage of the amnesty to adjust their legal status or exit Kuwait. The ministry’s statement highlights that this allows individuals without proper residency documents to leave Kuwait without facing penalties.
