Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Launches ‘Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme’ for Affordable Housing. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has introduced the Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme, offering interest-free loans of up to Rs 1.5 million to low-income families for housing purposes.
The Housing Department and the Bank of Khyber signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to implement the initiative.
The program, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, aims to support families in building new homes or renovating existing properties. With an allocation of Rs 4 billion, the scheme includes a seven-year repayment plan. Beneficiaries will pay a maximum monthly instalment of Rs 18,000, ensuring affordability.
Eligibility and Operational Details
Applicants must own land to qualify for the scheme, which will operate under a revolving fund model for the next seven years. Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized the government’s commitment to improving housing for disadvantaged groups during the launch event.
“Providing quality housing for low-income families is a top priority. The Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme reflects our dedication to enhancing living standards,” he stated.
The KP government launched a low-cost housing scheme under the Naya Pakistan Housing Program earlier. This initiative includes the construction of 1,320 low-cost apartments, with 120 flats planned in the first phase, at an estimated cost of Rs 3,300 million.
The government continues to roll out innovative programs to uplift the living conditions of its citizens.
