The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced plans to auction fancy vehicle number plates bearing the names of prominent political and national figures, including Imran Khan, Asif Ali Zardari, and Nawaz Sharif.
Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Syed Fakhar Jehan told the media that the initiative will also feature number plates named after Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
He said the auction will roll out in phases. In the first phase, number plates titled “Imran Khan-804” and “Imran Khan-1” will go under the hammer on January 27. Plates carrying the names of other political leaders will follow in subsequent phases.

According to an official advertisement issued by the Excise and Taxation Department, the auction will also include plates featuring well-known tribal and family names such as Afridi, Gandapur, Durrani, Kundi, Yousufzai, Mahsood, and Khattak. The event will take place at Nishtar Hall in Peshawar.
Citizens can submit applications through the Dastak mobile application. The application deadline is January 26, 2026.
Fakhar Jehan said bidding for the fancy number plates will start at Rs1 million. The highest bidder will secure the plate featuring their chosen political or national figure.
He added that vehicle owners have shown strong interest in the initiative, which the provincial government expects to generate substantial revenue for the national exchequer.
