Virat Kohli playfully mimicked KL Rahul’s Kantara-inspired celebration after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a six-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in their IPL 2025 match at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
The lighthearted moment followed RCB’s chase of 163, led by Krunal Pandya’s unbeaten 73 off 47 balls and Kohli’s 51 off 47, earning him the Orange Cap for his sixth half-century of the season.
Rahul, who previously played for RCB and led DC to a win at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 10, had celebrated by thumping his chest and tapping his bat, channelling the 2022 Kannada film Kantara.

Kohli, a Delhi native, recreated the gesture to tease Rahul, who laughed in response, adding a fun highlight to RCB’s triumph. DC’s Rahul scored 41 off 39, with Tristan Stubbs’ 34 off 18 lifting them to 162 for 8, but Bhuveshwar Kumar (3/33) and Josh Hazlewood (2/36) kept them in check.
